Description
The Zafu Meditation Cushion Zen from Lotuscrafts combines the traditional Zafu shape with a firm filling of organic spelt husks. The wide, round seat and the side stretch pleats form a gently sloping side surface that supports the pelvis in an upright meditation posture.
With a seat height of 15 cm, the Zafu suits a range of meditation postures and is especially well suited for people who prefer more height and a generous seating area. The heat-treated organic spelt husks from Germany mould to the body and create a firm, supportive sitting feel. A zip on the inner cushion lets you adjust the amount of filling to the seat height and firmness you prefer.
Compared to the Zafu Zen with kapok filling, the spelt husk version feels firmer and more compact. It weighs around 1.7 kg and is particularly well suited for a calm meditation practice at home or in the yoga studio. The kapok Zafu, at around 0.9 kg, is noticeably lighter and offers a softer, more elastic sitting feel.
Cover and inner cushion are made from 100% organic cotton. The GOTS-certified cover is removable and can be machine washed at 30°C. The lotus embroidery on the carry handle completes the classic Zafu design.
